With its premium design, advanced features, and top-notch performance, you could say that the 2021 Mazda CX-5 is a true luxury crossover. How does it stack up against other luxury models on the market?

To help you see which crossover SUV will provide you with the ultimate driving experience around Willow Grove, Willow Manor, and Glenside, PA, our Mazda of Abington team compared the Mazda CX-5 vs. Lexus NX below.

2021 MAZDA CX-5 vs Lexus NX: Performance

Both cars have a similar feel while driving. Their engines deliver power quickly to the wheels the moment you push your foot on the gas pedal. This offers responsive and spirited acceleration. They also come with independent suspension systems that feature front MacPherson struts. These provide a stiff and smooth ride for maximum comfort and great handling while driving. Even more control is given via each of their available all-wheel drive systems.

What then separates these two crossovers when it comes to their performance? The answer is their fuel economy. While enjoying your ride in the Mazda CX-5, it will conserve fuel at a great rate as it gets an EPA-estimated 25 city and 31 highway MPG.1 The Lexus NX, on the other hand, gets 22 city and 28 highway MPG.

While the NX comes with a 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine, which generates 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, even more power is available with the 2021 Mazda CX-5. That is because it offers the available Skyactiv®-G 2.5 Turbo engine. Delivering up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, this provides quick acceleration and sporty driving wherever you go.

That way, it can help you quickly refocus on the road ahead or know when it is best to pull into a rest stop and take a break from driving. The Lexus NX doesn’t offer this feature.

They both also come with systems that can help you travel safely with the flow of traffic, avoid frontal collisions, and stay within your lane.
