With the advanced engineering of the Mazda CX-3, your vehicle can constantly monitor the condition and performance of its various systems. It can also do this while driving around Willow Grove, Willow Manor, and Glenside with the use of dashboard lights.
What are these various lights trying to tell you? Here at Sussman Mazda, our team made this Mazda CX-3 dashboard light guide to help you understand what the different dashboard lights mean.
These icons can be warning you about a system that isn’t working properly or alerting you of a safety issue. When one of these lights flashes on, you will want to have your car serviced as soon as possible.
Brake System Warning Light: When you see an exclamation point inside a circle over the word BRAKE, there are a few things to check. First, make sure your parking brake is fully released. If the light stays on, then you probably have low brake fluid. It’s important to have more fluid added and your car inspected to make sure there isn’t a leak.
ABS Warning Light: When the letters ABS appear on your dashboard, a malfunction within the anti-lock braking system has been detected. You should have this issue resolved as soon as possible so that your brakes can continue to work at their best.
Charging System Warning Light: If you see an icon that looks like a battery, there is something wrong with the charging system. When you have your car serviced, our technicians can determine if the battery or alternator needs to be replaced.
Engine Oil Warning Light: When your oil gets too low, a picture of an oil can dripping oil will appear on the dashboard of your Mazda CX-3. You can go ahead and check the oil level and add more if needed. If the light stays on after that, it’s best to have a professional take a look to see what’s wrong.
High Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light: What looks like a thermometer submerged in liquid, this light is telling you the temperature inside your engine is too hot. You will want to stop the engine as soon as possible to let it cool down, then bring it by our service center to have your Mazda CX-3 inspected.
TCS/DSC Indicator Light: If the Traction Control System, Dynamic Stability Control, or brake assist system aren’t working properly, you will see this light turn on. Our technicians will be able to figure out what the issue is and have your Mazda CX-3 back to the controlled and stable driving you are used to.
These lights turn on to notify you that a system is in use or to send you a safety alert. These are helpful to remind you what systems are currently being used and can help keep you aware of your current driving.
Headlight High-Beam Indicator Light: This light stays on while your high beams are being used.
Driver Attention Alert Indication: If your Mazda CX-3 is equipped with Driver Attention Alert, a coffee mug will illuminate on your dashboard. This is the car telling you it senses you are becoming tired and it would be wise to take a break.
Select Mode Indicator Light: With the Mazda CX-3, you are able to tailor the vehicle’s performance to match your driving conditions. When you want a more responsive and thrilling ride, you can choose Sport mode. When activated, the word SPORT will stay on your dashboard until you deactivate this mode.
If you notice any of these or other warning lights on the dashboard of your Mazda CX-3 while driving around Willow Grove, Willow Manor, or Glenside, you can bring your car to our service center. Our technicians will be able to quickly figure out what’s causing the light to be on and resolve the issue for you.
